Steve Wilks
Steve was born and brought up in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. He went to university in London gaining an Electrical Engineering degree. He started work in the City of London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
He then went into construction joining Balfour Beatty and took a post as manager in Saudi Arabia. On Bonfire Night, 1984 and sat in row 13, he was victim of a hijacking and was held hostage in Tehran for a short time. He then sought a job with no foreign travel and joined UK house building firm Barratt Homes as Finance Director. He became Director for the Southampton area and then for the south and west of the UK. Foreign travel was limited to Wales and the Isle of Wight.
Steve is a keen cyclist and enjoys all sports, particularly supporting Saints. Since retiring, he now owns a 1934 20/25 Hooper Sports Saloon and a 2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8.
He lives in Brockenhurst in the New Forest.
