Chairman’s AGM Report March 2025
Our Treasurer’s Report shows that our finances remain robustly healthy. Potential changes outlined by the RREC Board that are intended to bestow greater independence on club Sections demonstrates the wisdom of your committee’s cautious approach.
I am grateful to all committee members for their support over the past year and that all have indicated their willingness to serve for a further year.
We were pleased to co-op volunteer Margaret Baillon-Bending after last year’s AGM when she kindly offered to help and we have to formally ratify her this year. Margaret assisted with a number of events including Sherborne and the December lunch for which we thank her most warmly.
We welcomed a number of new members into the fold and our social event programme expanded – although we can always do with more volunteers.
Our quarterly magazine has grown under the expert guidance of our enthusiastic editor Chris Sheldrake. With so many pages to fill, Chris always values fresh material so if you have an interesting car or story to tell do please contact him with your ideas.
Our valued member Russell Brenner joined the RREC on 30 January 1985 which makes him rather older than some of our cars. Well done Russell. A presentation of his 40 year badge will be made at the meeting.
My main activity over the New Year has been renewing advertisers for the 2025 season to support the magazine financially. I am delighted to report that most have benefitted from the increased coverage and reach of Torque magazine. Additionally I have recruited three new advertisers in White Works, Augusta Auto and Bournemouth Motor Works plus Ghost Motor Works following a recommendation from our Vice Chairman Gary Trinder.
Board member Phillip Brooks will attend our meeting and shed further light on the latest activities at HQ.
